KKM Operating Company (KKM OC) announced that the first shipment of crude oil through CPC system was successfully transported to Novorossiysk, Russian Federation. KKM OC signed an agreement on oil transportation with Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) in March 2005.

Oleg Kononenko joined KazInvestBank as a member of the Board of Directors. His 14-year experience, along with his supportive Temirbank team, helped expand business operations in branches and retail business development.

September 2005
IPNet marked a rapid DIRECWAY sales grow. Direcway technology is the newest VSAT satellite technology from the world’s leading company Hughes Network Systems. Direcway terminals have the capacity to provide throughput speed of up to 48 Mbps, access to Turbo Internet/Intranet, telephony, and very reliable security system.

KazInvestBank (KIB) obtained a new updated banking license for a complete range of banking services, including issuance of cards and issuance/confirmation of letters of credit. KIB also issued subordinated bonds in the amount of $10 million.

Syrymbet introduced tin production technology for hydro- and hydrometallurgical processes. Designed by a local scientific research centre, this technology will also be used in production of such goods as SiO2, Al2O3 and Fe2O3.

Lancaster Invest acquired 51% of the Advant Venture Fund with the capital of KZT 2.7 billion. The other 49% of the shares are held by the National Innovation Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NIF).

ККМ Оperating Сompany (KKM OC) signed a Memorandum of the Mutual Understanding of Producing Industry Transparency Initiative in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

ERSAI Caspian Contractor LLC started the construction of a jetty on the south side of the Yard. The jetty characteristics are reported to be 265 long with 5m water depth and an elevation of 1.8m above sea level, and with load capacity of 50 ton per sq.m. The jetty investment totaled over $12 million. ERSAI Caspian Contractor also signed a contract with KEPPEL Kazakhstan for procurement, prefabrication and erection of ancillary steelworks and pipe racks.

October 2005
The Board of Directors appointed A. Utessinov to the position of President of KKM OC. Mr. Utessinov replaced Mr. M.B. Sapargaliyev who was dismissed from the position in September.

Lancaster Invest informed that Arnat Abzhanov joined the company as Vice-President. Prior to joining Lancaster Invest, Mr Abzhanov held positions of Managing Director at KazInvestBank and Deputy General Director at AIG Silk Road Capital Management.

November 2005
KKM Operating Company (KKM OC) reported that drilling of the first well in Kumsai field was completed. This work was part of KKM OC pilot project launched in May 2005 in cooperation with APA Petroleum Engineering, a Canadian consultancy company.

Lancaster Invest signed the Project Management Agreement with the Advant Venture Fund.

December 2005
KazInvestBank (KIB) subordinated bonds of $10 million issued in September and successfully passed the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) with an "A" rating. KIB closed FY2005 with a positive net income of $0.29 million with total assets of more than $107 million.

KKM Operating Company (KKM OC) won a tender for subsoil use in Karpovskiy Severnyi block, which contains oil, gas and condensate. The general meeting of KKM OC shareholders has approved the Corporate Management Code.

ERSAI Caspian Contractor LLC reported the implementation of the Quality System. The company is now certified ISO 9001 by the Bureau VERITAS Kazakhstan.

Lancaster Invest informed that the Advant Venture Fund acquired 60% of G-Media JSC, a telecommunications company operating since 2001 in Pavlodar city of the north-eastern Kazakhstan.
