The Fizmat Endowment Fund (from the English endowment ‒ contribution) is a special fund that aims to provide a guaranteed and stable non-state source of funding for the needs of the Russian Federation for many generations to come.
The principle of operation of endowment funds is similar to a deposit account: the fund collects funds from the voluntary contributions of interested parties; these funds collected by the fund (the fund's capital) are never spent, but are invested (for example, placed in a deposit account), and only the interest received from the investment is spent on the needs of the beneficiary organization.
