Almaty hosted an international tournament football in memory of the USSR Master of Sports Sergey Prokopyevich Kvochkin. During the period from 31 October to 5 November six football teams fought for the right to be the best at the Academy of FC “Kairat”: FC “Kairat”, FC “Astana”, Almaty club “Zhas Kyran” team, FC “Dordoi ” from Bishkek, FC” Pakhtakor ” from Tashkent and FC” Chertanovo “from Moscow.

Almaty also hosted “Zhas Kyran” Youth Football League Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan among teams of 2004 year of birth. The championship was attended by 10 teams of Kazakhstan regions, as well as the FC “Kairat” (outside the competition).
Chairman of Lancaster Group and President of Youth Football League “Zhas Kyran” Berik Kaniyev, one of the sponsors of the tournaments, commented:”The championship brought together 10 teams, representatives of the regions. All teams played fairly even, showing very good and uncompromising football, and the city of Almaty has won the championship. In fact, the winner of the Championship could be any team. You have seen the emotions, children cried and rejoiced. I think they will now go back home and start practicing harder, there are no winners and losers. These are very positive and educational processes that we are introducing as part of the Youth Football League “Zhas Kyran”. I would like to wish the Almaty team more wins in the future and to hold the winning title. I hope the rest of the teams will beat the champions in the future and we will see good some good and uncompromising fights”.
Berik Kaniyev also shared the League’s plans for 2017: “This year, “Zhas Kyran” League is one year old, but we have already covered all regions, all regional and national competitions, and next year we want to cover about 30 thousand children playing in the Championship all over Kazakhstan. And it will not be just local 2-3 days tournaments, but full-fledged championships played every Saturday and Sunday. The winners will play in the regional championship, and the regional winners will then defend the honor in the Republican Championship, where we hope our children will get noticed by football breeders. Our goal is exactly to serve as a good foothold and foundation for football centers and academies. ”
