Since 2003, he has been strategically managing Lancaster Group and is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lancaster Group Kazakhstan and Tin One Mining JSC.

Berik Kaniev graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Duke University with an MBA.
In 2024, he graduated from Harvard Business School with a degree in Owner/President Management.
