On August 14, Nur-Sultan hosted the prestigious Ironman series triathlon, where our company was represented by the Lancaster's power team. This year, not only participants of our usual BI Group Ironman 70.3 Astana race, but also BI Group Ironman Kazakhstan full-distance races started.

1,400 “half” participants, 800 “full” participants, 112 relay teams from 75 countries, including Great Britain, India, Germany, Russia and many other countries.

The event was supported by the Mayor's Office of Nur-Sultan and the Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation. It should be noted that the capital of Kazakhstan was the first CIS city to host this tournament. Each race consists of three stages held without breaks: a 3.86 km swim, a 180.25 km bike race and a 42.195 km marathon. The Ironman 70.3 series includes competitions at twice the distances: the 1.9 km swim, the 90 km bike race and the 21.1 km race. The route was built as comfortably as possible, which made it possible to show high speed performance. More than a thousand people arrived in the capital to support the participants. The finish was in the very center of the triathlon park, where a huge platform was built for fans and guests. It should be noted that the event was organized at a high level.

We had a strong team — team captain Talgat Bostekov (running), team members Anuar Unaybekov (swim) and Aynakulov Marat (bicycle race). As a result of the competition, the Lancaster's Power team went through all stages of triathlon with dignity, and took the well-deserved 30th place out of 45 nominated teams with a score of 6:14:05.

Jamilya Akmoldayeva also competed in singles, covering her distance in record time for a debutant, finishing 6th among women in the F 40-44 age group and 16th out of 115 in the overall women's standings, with a total time of 5:22:22. It should be noted that Jamila is actively involved in sports, showing excellent results at other competitions: this year she qualified for the Oceanman World Championship, which will be held in late October this year in Greece.

All our guys showed a high level of physical fitness, which is proved by the results of the competition. The competition refereeing system met international standards; each participant was assigned wristbands with sensors that marked the distance, speed and movement of each athlete along the perimeter of the competition routes.

On behalf of Lancaster's management and employees, we congratulate the guys on their victory and express our gratitude for their strength and courage, for protecting the company's honor and dignity, and for their hard preparation over the course of several months. The guys did their best, because, firstly, it was a challenge for each of them personally, and they also sincerely wanted to bring victory to our company! We wish you further victories, good luck and success in all your endeavors, good health and prosperity!

Let us remind you that IRONMAN launches throughout the year in various parts of the world. Each of them is awarded a certain number of seats (slots) that give you the right to participate in the main start of the season - the IRONMAN World Championship. BI Group IRONMAN Kazakhstan gave away 45 slots at the IRONMAN World Championship 2022 in Kalua-Kona, Hawaii.
