The Foundation, which fights for clean air in Almaty, held an event where it presented its mobile application. The guests took part in a discussion with the Foundation's experts on the environmental situation in Almaty
On July 28, AirVision.kz organized the first environmental meeting to draw the attention of city residents to the problem of air pollution and introduce them to the activities of the foundation.

Foundation representatives Aigerim Syzdykova and Olzhas Zhanabek shared the results of Airvision.kz's work. The AirVision.kz Public Independent Foundation was established in February 2020 by entrepreneur Berik Kaniev. The mission and goal of the Foundation is to improve air quality in Almaty. The first step was to monitor air quality. Since 2020, the Foundation has been working closely with government agencies, international organizations, the civil sector, Kazakh and foreign scientists.

At the event, the foundation presented the AirVision mobile app. This is a unique multifunctional application that allows you to:

  • monitor the Almaty air pollution index in real time;
  • report environmental violations;
  • make suggestions for improving air quality;
  • read news and useful articles about ecology.

The mobile app is available on AppStore and GooglePlay.

Over the past year and a half, the Foundation has done a lot of work to centrally collect data from various air quality monitoring sensors in Almaty and the Almaty agglomeration.

Scientific research by Kazakh scientists, including the foundation's expert, Nasiba Baymatova, to study the content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the surface layer of Almaty air has been funded. The results were published in authoritative international publications (Science of Total Environment).

Together with the British Embassy in Kazakhstan, work is being carried out to educate the population in terms of environmental awareness through social networks. These events are timed to coincide with the upcoming Conference of the Parties, which will be held in Glasgow.

Together with WECOOP, online seminars were held on the inventory of air pollutants and the transition to AQI (the experience of the European Union).

In partnership with UNICEF, a video has been launched about the impact of air pollution on children's brain development and health.

Educational videos about ecology were released at the expense of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

With the assistance of local entrepreneurs Berika Kaniyeva, Sergey Spitsyn and Maxim Baryshev, the Foundation launched a charitable project to gasify the private sector in Almaty. In total, 200 houses for socially vulnerable groups of the population will take part in the project. Now anyone can submit a request for gas supply through the web portal airvision.kz.
