The Head of State was acquainted with the results of the production activities of the diversified holding Lancaster Group in 2020 and in the first quarter of this year.
Berik Kaniev, Chairman of the Board of Directors, spoke about the investment and social projects implemented by Lancaster Group.
Berik Kaniev spoke about socially significant projects in the field of ecology, education and the development of youth football, to which he pays special attention. In particular, about the activities of the Children and Youth Football League “Jas Qyran”. The goal and idea of this project is to comprehensively support the development of youth football in Kazakhstan, improve the infrastructure of training centers and improve the skills of the coaching staff, and identify talented guys who will soon become future football players in Kazakhstan.
It is worth noting separately about the “Jas Qyran” Children and Youth Football Center, created on the basis of Almaty Sports School No. 2, one of the most famous in Kazakhstan, which opened back in the last century in 1964. On the basis of the “Jas Qyran” Football Center, a team of the same name was created, which qualified for the Second League of the Kazakhstan Championship this year.
In the field of ecology, the AirVision.kz Public Foundation, established in January 2020 to improve Almaty's air quality, was presented. The Foundation cooperates with government agencies, the civil sector, Kazakh and foreign scientists, as well as the expert community. During its work, the foundation has won a grant from UNDP to monitor volatile organic compounds.
Quantum STEM Schools is one of the promising projects in the education sector. This is an innovative network of private schools in Kazakhstan, which involves training based on best practices from the best schools in Singapore and the United States. Quantum STEM is a joint project between Lancaster Group and BI Group, created in 2020, which plans to open a network of schools in all regions of the country, thereby improving the quality of education provided at the level of international standards.
Berik Kaniev, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics, also spoke about the activities of the school and the Fizmat Endowment Fund. Thanks to the activities of the foundation, this year the first Fizmat Primary School is opening in Uralsk in the West Kazakhstan region.
Berik Kaniev informed the President about measures taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19 at industrial facilities, as well as the holding's participation in the fight against the pandemic. Lancaster Group has allocated 170 million tenge for the purchase of PCR tests for clinical diagnostic purposes for various organizations. Other social support was also provided, including the transfer of medicines. Today, the group of companies is actively vaccinating employees against coronavirus.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished success in implementing this important initiative, and also highly appreciated the participation of Lancaster Group Kazakhstan in implementing other socially significant projects.
