RFMS celebrated its 50th anniversary!

The Republican School of Physics and Mathematics (RFMS) celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. Over half a century of history, the educational institution has come a long way, consolidating its reputation as the strongest physical and mathematical school in Kazakhstan. The First Republican School of Physics and Mathematics was founded in Almaty on October 16, 1972 by analogy with physical and mathematical boarding schools at major universities in the Soviet Union. The main goal of the RFMS then and now is to identify and further develop gifted children from all regions of Kazakhstan and, as a result, to form the country's intellectual elite. Over 50 years, about 11,000 students have graduated from the prestigious school, including many graduates have become influential politicians, promising scientists and successful businessmen, innovators in their field. the educational institution has the principles of academic freedom and corporate freedom management, create a Board of Directors from among graduates and experts in the field of education. At the same time, the school has remained 100% public, which has kept it accessible to talented students. The school has retained and is actively attracting the best teachers, renovating its material and technical base, purchasing new equipment, and developing research and innovation. Thus, in 2016, the second RFMS school was opened in Astana, and in 2021, the third school in Uralsk. A new educational building with an area of 10.5 thousand square meters has been built at the Almaty RFMS.
