On June 4, 2022, the official opening of the triathlon park took place in the center of Aktobe, where favorable, comfortable conditions for sports and walking were created for residents and visitors to the city.
The facility was implemented on the initiative of businessman and philanthropist Berik Kaniev, his friends and partners as part of social responsibility. The Triathlon Park is a 2.4 km long cycling and treadmill and a Nordic walking and walking path with children around the entire perimeter of the park. The triathlon park also has an 820 square meter sports center, which provides a unique opportunity for professional athletes to not only run, but also fully prepare for triathlon competitions: there are 3 rooms where the fitness center, cycling and athletics sections are located. A cafe will be opened on the territory of the sports center, with a specially designed healthy food menu for professional athletes and park guests, and the building will also have a service center for bicycles.
As part of the opening of the park, the Ekiden track and field launch took place with the participation of 30 teams from Uralsk, Atyrau, Nur-Sultan and Aktobe. The solemn ceremony was opened by the akim of Aktobe region, Urazalin Ondasyn Seilovich. The Governor of the region expressed gratitude and noted the importance of promoting a healthy lifestyle:”Only a few major cities in our country have similar parks. On behalf of Aktobe residents, we express our deep gratitude to Berik Kaniev and his team who gave us a wonderful place for sports and recreation. In general, in the region, a number of sports complexes have been built in all districts in recent years to support the healthy lifestyle of our citizens”. Berik Seralievich Kaniev, philanthropist and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lancaster Group, and Asylzhan Almazovich Dostiyarov, Vice President of the Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation, were also among the guests at the opening ceremony.
Berik Seralievich, in turn, expressed gratitude to the heads of the region and city, and thanked his team and all project participants for their work and noted that the prospects for the development of the triathlon park include the construction of a swimming pool, work-out grounds, streetball, football, volleyball and other sports.
It is also worth noting the words of project manager Bakhyt Ospanov, who is the director of the B&B Impact Fund, created by Berik Kaniev to implement socially significant and charitable projects:”Today we are witnessing a remarkable event — the opening of a triathlon park in St. Aktobe. At the very beginning of the project, we came to this place with the whole team to personally inspect the territory of the future park. Then there was nothing here at all — it was just a big wasteland, and thanks to our Russian philanthropists and caring citizens - triathletes, today there is a beautiful park where every resident and visitor to the city can come here and play sports in a comfortable environment at any convenient time. It is also encouraging that such necessary large-scale projects are being implemented in the regions, and not just in the country's major cities. Such initiatives are a good help for the formation of a healthy nation in our country, and I am glad that I was part of such a project. I would like to note that I ran 10 km with my friends early this morning and saw how both athletes and amateurs had already been training in the park. And last night I took a bike ride here and was pleasantly surprised that despite the late time, the park was living a full life, which, of course, is encouraging for me!”.
Citizens have already chosen the triathlon park: the park has become a new place of attraction for professional athletes and active residents of the city and the region not only for sports and physical activity, but also for team building, sports and children's events. The park is freely accessible to everyone and has all the conditions for sports activities: it is possible to use bicycles, skates, skates and other sports equipment.

In 2019, the Aktobe Oblast Triathlon Federation was officially opened in Aktobe region. In 2020, a triathlon section branch was opened at the Dostyk pool. Today, 40 children are professionally enrolled in the triathlon section. The number of triathlon fans in the region is more than 350 people. Aktobe residents have become traditional participants in the Ironman World Series and the Temiradam Republican Start Series. Two athletes from Aktobe, Vladimir Mikhailov and Alexey Vshivtsev, participated in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in the USA this year. Daryn Konysbayev became the bronze medalist of the Kazakhstan Cup in the Elite Group in 2022. Over the 3 years since the organization of the Triathlon Federation, 5 major competitions have been held in Aktobe, including the Kazakhstan Championship with the participation of athletes from all over Kazakhstan.
One of the points in implementing the triathlon development plan in Aktobe region after the completion of the triathlon park is the creation of the Qazaqman branded sporting event in order not only to promote mass sports and triathlon in general, but also to develop external and domestic tourism in Aktobe region.
