August 20, 2022 in Konayev hosted the Triathlon Championship in Almaty and Almaty Oblast for athletes of the following age categories:
- U15, U17, U19 and U23 — Supersprint distance (300 m swimming, 8 km cycling, 2 km running);
- AGE GROUP — Sprint distance (750 m swimming, 20 km cycling, 5 km running).
The “MY Win” team also took part in this Supersprint competition, adding 4 medals to the national team's piggy bank!
Moldir Dyusupova became the winner among My Win students in the U-15 age category, and Daria Turkina won a silver medal in the same category.
Qanay Elmurat scored in the men's competition, taking 2nd place in the U-17 age category and finishing second in the overall standings, and Rustem Mukhamedkhaydar brought the team a bronze medal in the U-15 age category.
In the overall standings, 31 young athletes and 25 amateur triathlon athletes tool part in the competition. The main objectives of this sporting event are to promote triathlon and identify promising children in this sport.
The championship was organized by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Almaty Region and the Mayor's Office of Almaty. Konayev, Almaty Triathlon Federation NGO, Courage to Be First, Almaty Marathon, World Class Almaty Fitness Club, Other You Film Festival, as well as the Academic Shakhmardan Yessenov Scientific and Educational Foundation.
