The first International World Chess Championship among school teams, organized by FIDE, ended in Aktau, in which RFMS teams from Almaty and Astana successfully participated
The school team and the Fizmat Endowment Fund supported young chess players in achieving such success on the international stage: they financed training camps and the Fizmat Chess Open chess tournament. Together we are doing more for the future of young athletes!
The RFMS Almaty team took second place in the older age group, and the capital's students took third place in the younger age group under 12 years old!
These are great results: in the final of the championship, our guys competed with 43 teams from 39 countries in the older age group and 27 teams from 22 countries in the younger age group.
There were six prizes at the championship: gold, silver and bronze medals in two age groups. Kazakhstan won prizes in both groups — both medals were won by guys from the RFMS. This is a great achievement!
