Berik and Bayan Kaniyev Scholarship This is the first Duke University scholarship established for citizens of Kazakhstan and the entire former Soviet Union. It provides access to full-time master's studies at Fuqua School of Business, one of the world's leading business schools.
The scholarship is awarded annually to one citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan enrolled in MBA, MQM or MMS programs and fully covers the cost of tuition. The award decision is made by the Fuqua School of Business Competition Committee.
The creation of this scholarship is a contribution to the long-term development of the country's human capital. It gives talented and motivated Kazakhstanis the opportunity to receive a world-class education, regardless of financial circumstances, and then use their knowledge for the benefit of their country.
The scholarship is valid indefinitely from capital investment income and is the first and only initiative of its kind at Duke University from philanthropists from Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
