The foundation was founded in 2007 and is founded by Gulnar Dossayeva. The Foundation is implementing projects aimed at improving living conditions and expanding development opportunities for orphans (the “Mentors” project) and children with special educational needs (the “Different-Equal” project).

The Foundation makes proposals to improve legislation and helps to realize the rights of orphans and children with disabilities. The Foundation's fundamental principle is: “All children, without exception, have the right to equal education, development and socialization”.

Currently, Dara collaborates with government agencies and national companies as part of projects. Speaking about the results, the Foundation has opened 45 Centers for Psychological and Pedagogical Correction throughout Kazakhstan, and 170 teenagers from orphanages in the country have found their older friend and mentor.
