The second Nurlan Kapparov Graduate Fellowship for the 2021 academic year Mirzhan Karakulov has been announced! (FB: Mirzhan Karakulov) Mirzhan Karakulov has 16 years of experience in the field of economics and finance in Kazakhstan and abroad.
Having started his career in 2002 in the company Accept Agrochem as a financial specialist, Mirzhan worked his way up from a risk manager to a member of the board of commercial and quasi-state financial organizations. In 2014-2016, Mirzhan headed the inspection department of the National Bank of Kazakhstan. He is currently advising the International Finance Corporation's Stress Asset Recovery program in the African region.
Mirzhan received a Master's degree in Economic Development from Vanderbilt University (USA) and a Bachelor's degree with honors in Economics from KIMEP University. He has three children with his wife.
