On April 2 this year, in Almaty, the Kazakhstan Golf Federation elected Berik Kaniev as President of the Federation, who replaced Imangali Tasmagambetov. Berik Kaniev is a Kazakh businessman and public figure who actively invests his time and effort in many public projects that benefit the country and its citizens. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lancaster Group Kazakhstan, as well as the founder of a number of social projects in the fields of education, sports and ecology. Among them are the Jas Qyran Football Center for Children and Youth, the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics (RFMS), the Physics and Mathematics Endowment Fund and the Air Vision Eco-Fund. He also supports the “IQanat” and “Mom's House” projects as a philanthropist.

As President of the Federation, Berik Kaniev intends to develop and promote golf in Kazakhstan. At the same time, he plans to develop golf for children and youth in order to attract more young people to this Olympic sport.
